Wellbeing through Nature and Art: Botanical Workshop and Mural Incursion
‘Wellbeing through Nature and Art’ is an art in school incursion program facilitated by Sarah, consisting of botanical art workshops and/or the creation of a unique collaborative mural. Throughout the program, students learn about native botanicals, enhance their art knowledge and apply these skills and observations with a focus on mindfullness. The incursion can be workshops only, mural only or both workshops and the creation of a collaborative mural.
Sarah’s approach emphasises meaningful hands-on learning with individualised instruction, ensuring that each student receives personalised guidance to nurture their creativity and abilities.
‘Wellbeing through Nature and Art’ highlights the importance of visual literacy—the ability to understand and communicate through visual language. Through drawing and creative exploration, Sarah supports students in developing cognitive skills, imagination, self-expression, engagement, and critical thinking, making art an essential part of the learning experience. By combining art with nature, her workshops also nurture curiosity and a sense of wonder, helping children connect more deeply with the world around them.
The incursion can be tailored to suit different age groups, timing requirements and budgets.
